Herts Executive, Hertfordshire’s largest executive car operator, has won two prestigious accolades in the Professional Driver QSi Awards 2018. The company won the Bronze Award in the Chauffeur of the Year (11-30 vehicles) category, while Herts Executive Driver, Terry McCann, took Silver in the hotly contested Professional Driver of the Year category. The double award haul follows on from two wins in the previous year’s awards for the company.

The Professional Driver magazine QSi Awards are the only national awards to recognise service excellence within the private hire and chauffeur industry. Attracting hundreds of entries from companies of all sizes, the awards showcase the most aspiring and innovative firms that are setting new benchmarks in what customers can expect in service standards.

Mark Bursa, Editor at Professional Driver magazine, said: “Herts Executive has been on a 20-year journey from humble beginnings as a mini-cab firm to a very fine customer-focused executive transport operator. Herts Executive has built its business around a focus on delivering a quality customer experience and, as a result, has grown to become the biggest executive fleet in Hertfordshire. With drivers on the team like Terry McCann who exemplify the kinds of service standards we celebrate in the QSi Awards, we’re not surprised to see Herts Executive back again and claiming trophies.”

Terry McCann, 63, one of the longest-serving drivers at Herts Executive and Driver Manager, joined the company following a career in the military followed by a career as a paramedic. During his time with the company, he has built up a solid base of loyal customers that he still drives for today in between seeing to his other demanding managerial responsibilities. Despite having overcome two cancer operations in 2015 and 2016, he continues to energetically and effectively lead by example in his duties of maintaining company-wide service standards.

Bal Notay, Director at Herts Executive, said: “We are beyond delighted to have been recognised again in the Professional Driver magazine QSi Awards. We’re particularly proud of Terry who more than deserves recognition as Driver of the Year for all that he does both for the company and for the clients we serve. We’ve always placed service at the heart of our business’ growth strategy, and it is paying off. We take these award wins as encouragement to redouble our efforts in showing Hertfordshire, London and the whole of the UK what great service in private hire really means.”

Now in its sixth year, the QSi Awards night 2018 took place on Thursday 22nd November at Effingham Park Hotel, near Gatwick. Comprised of Bronze Silver and Gold awards in 10 categories spanning innovation in marketing, environmental performance, local community activities as well as the final award of the evening, Driver of the Year category, the awards have grown to become the de facto mark of excellence in the chauffeur and private hire industry.

Herts Executive provides executive and premium-leisure transportation services to customers all over the Home Counties and London. It operates a fleet of approximately 30 new E-class Mercedes driven by carefully vetted professional drivers who have undergone advanced driver training. The company has grown organically from its beginnings as a mini-cab company, principally through its dedication to continually improving service standards and through recommendation by satisfied customers. Despite this, Herts Executive remains competitive on price for mid to long-distance travel. Its customers principally work in finance and insurance, aviation, pharmaceuticals and other major corporate sectors that are represented in Hertfordshire.
